We were lucky enough to be a part of the 2022 L'Oréal Beauty Awards - this time in a virtual set! L'Oréal had done a few virtual events already at this point so we wanted to do something a little different to what they have done in the past. We pitched a modern twist on a photo shoot and set our home at the White Studios in Auckland. With a less is more mentality we lit the presenters from a soft source and let the light wrap around the studio. One of our Panasonic 12,000 lumen laser single chip projectors took care of the graphics - although only operating at 9% brightness to not wash out the cameras. To make the presenters more comfortable we supplied a autocue system mounted to one of our 4K cameras which sat on a 2.5m long track. This allowed us to get moving and more fluid shots whereas in the past, static single tripod shots had been utilised.
A 14 hour stint of editing took place after our day at White Studios to make sure everything was perfect and within a week of recording we were playing back the content over Teams and then Vimeo.
